Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers
Offers a wide selection of fancy hamburgers made with your choice of ground beef, chicken, turkey, vegetable burgers, tofu burgers, or a giant portabello mushroom. There are three Barney's in Southern California, in Brentwood, Santa Monica, and Sherman Oaks.

Counter Burger
This gourmet burger chain restaurant serves gourmet hamburgers that can be served on a bun or over a salad. They got a huge boost of popularity when Oprah Winfrey declared it one of her favorite burger joints. Has several Southern California locations, including Los Angeles, Marina del Rey, Santa Monica, Studio City, Westlake Village, El Segundo, Carlsbad, Irvine, and Pasadena. Choose a burger, choose a cheese, choose a sauce, choose up to 4 toppings, choose premium toppings, choose your bun or bed of greens. Sides include white potato fries, sweet potato fries, and onion strings (the latter three can be ordered half and half).

Hole in the Wall Burger Joint
This no frills gourmet burger cafe is located at 11058 Santa Monica Boulevard, at South Bentley Avenue, behind the doughnut shop. Choose a prostein, choose a bread, choose a spread, choose a cheese, choose regular stuff to include, and choose extra price stuff to include. Sides include white potato fries and sweet potato fries.

Cassell's Hamburgers
This small burger joint at 3266 West 6th Street in Los Angeles serves one of the best and freshest hamburgers in all of Los Angeles, according to many LA locals. Expect lines. This unassuming place has won quite a few "best burger in LA" mention in the press.

Original Tommy's
The original Tommy's restaurant on the corner of Rampart and Beverly Boulevards is nothing fancy but it's been a favorite of University of Southern California (USC) students, alumnae, and local celebrities for years. This Tommy's was opened in 1946 by Tommy Koulax and more then 50 years later later their chili-cheese burgers are still one of the most popular burgers in town.

When you want a burger and a piece of pie this cafe in Pasadena is the place to come. They have some of the best pies and hamburgers in town. Located at 913 East California Boulevard in Pasadena.
